Why We’re Attending the 10th Annual California Addiction Conference
This 10th annual conference is organized by the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals or CCAPP for short. What’s really interesting about this year’s conference is that it is actually three conferences in one. Each day is a conference of its own, meaning you can plan to attend all three days or you can just purchase admission for one of the conference days instead. We love the flexibility almost as much as the mini conference themes CCAPP chose for this year. The three conferences are:
The main CCAPP conference aka the California Addiction Conference
A Diversity, Equity and Inclusion conference specially designed for the addiction treatment community
A National Recovery Capital Conference about the latest research on recovery capital for often found in the families, paraprofessionals, peer support, and mutual support systems surrounding SUD patients
Each of these individual mini-conferences has an entire day’s worth of programming, from plenary sessions, to roundtable discussions and more. These days are jam packed with useful information, ideas and networking opportunities for addiction treatment professionals and the recovery community at large.
Behave Health Will Have a Booth at the 2023 California Addiction Conference to Answer all of Your Pressing Addiction Treatment EHR Questions and Concerns
At Behave Health, we believe that we’re never done building the best EHR for addiction treatment.
The needs of the treatment community are constantly evolving as the landscape surrounding behavioral healthcare continues to shift with policy changes, unfolding clinical research, updated standards of care, and new payer guidelines.
That’s why we love meeting with addiction treatment professionals like you to learn more about what challenges you’re facing in day-to-day operations and what you’re expecting from an EHR today and into the future.
If you’ve got questions or ideas about addiction treatment software, then we want to visit with you at the 2023 California Addiction Conference.
There Are So Many Reasons to be Excited about the 2023 California Addiction Conference
Here’s some of the top events and speeches we are most excited about taking in at the 2023 CAC this year:
Keynote speech by Carolyn Hardin. Ms. Hardin is the Interim Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals. She’ll be delivering a speech entitled, “Dare Them to Dream: Building Recovery Capital Step by Step” at the National Recovery Capital Conference. We’ve seen interviews with her before and we’re always inspired by her take on the power of drug courts to change lives, rather than simply punish people who struggle with the disease of addiction. She’s a dynamic speaker and a very down-to-earth professional with a lot of wisdom to share. We’re very excited to see her at the conference.
The Regulators and Legislators Update by Assemblymember Dr. Corey Jackson, DSW, MSW. Dr Jackson represents the 60th Assembly District in the California State Assembly and he has been involved in advocating for marginalized young people in California and beyond for years. He is the founder and CEO of SBX Youth and Family Services as well as State President of the NAACP Youth & College division. Dr. Jackson will no doubt have excellent insight into upcoming regulations and legislation that might impact addiction treatment in California now and in the future. His talk will be one you won’t want to miss.
Plenary: Advances in Islamic Addiction Treatment and the Transtheoretical Model with Sarah Mohr, LCSW, MSW. This talk by Islamic feminist, Sarah Mohr will hopefully draw on her paper, Loving the Present: Sufism, Mindfulness, and Recovery from Addiction and Mental Illness, which is a fascinating deep dive into the intersection of spirituality and recovery for Muslim SUD patients. This is a rare opportunity to learn more about the prevention, treatment and recovery journey of Muslims with SUD, a topic that is often overlooked in the larger recovery community.
